2nd Design: Spiderweb
For this design I used the following items, keep in mind you may also use any alternatives that you want.
Sally Hansen Shoot the Moon for my base coat. You can use any base color you want to as long as your spiderweb color will show up good against it.
Black Art Deco or black nail polish for the web.
Nail Art Brush.
Items needed for design
To start this design I applied two layers of my silver nail polish as my base coat. You want to make sure you have a real good opaque finish and let your base coat completely dry before starting your design.
The key to making a spiderweb is in 3 basic steps. All you need to know how to do is draw a diagonal, horizontal and vertical line. If you know how to do that, you know how to do the basic stepping stones for a spiderweb.
Basic lines for spiderweb design
Next, after my polish has dried, I am going in with my black polish and starting at a point, toward my cuticle area, and pull diagonal across the nail halfway. I will do the same horizontally and vertically.
Now that I am happy with my draft, I am going to finish up my 3 lines, pulling the polish the rest of the way off the nail. You can stop here and connect your lines or you can add extra lines to make a more dramatic and thickened spiderweb. I added two more diagonal lines.
The only thing left to do now is to connect your lines. You do this by adding in the letter "c" shapes to connect each line. You will start off small and get larger with the c shapes as you go up the spiderweb.
